A resident of Jattu, Etsako West Local Government of Edo State simply identified as Mr. Abdulateef, has been allegedly stabbed to death.

The tragedy struck after the deceased allegedly caught his wife with a man in their bedroom at about 3a.m on Sunday at the residence.

It was gathered that the woman attacked the deceased with a knife after he came home at about 3a.m and met an unidentified man with her in their bedroom.

A dependable source said an argument ensued between the duo, which resulted in the knife attack on
Abdulateef who died as a result of the injury he sustained almost immediately.

Source said, “The man was living with two wives in his house but had to rent an apartment for his first wife in a different location to allow peace to reign while staying with the junior one in his house”.

He said the deceased used to visit the first wife and spend the night there but there has been rumour alleging that another man do visit the women anytime night he went to see his first wife in the rented apartment.

The source also said the deceased came home on the faithful night from his first first wife’s rented apartment, only to meet a man with his junior wife in their bedroom.

According to source, the deceased allegedly got hold of the visitor and that in the process, the woman stabbed him twice on his stomach apparently to pave way for the alleged lover’s escape and make it look like robbery attack.

The deceased died as a result of the injury before help could come, adding that the quick arrival of the police save the suspect from be killed by mob, according to the source.

The source further said the suspect has been arrested by the police.

The spokesman of Edo State police Command, SP. Kotongs Bello, is yet to respond to inquiry from our Correspondent concerning the incident.
