Anambra 2021: INEC fixes Nov 9, for supplementary poll in Ihiala LG

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared Anambra governorship election inconclusive.

ANDY UBA (APC), CHUKWUMA CHARLES SOLUDO (APGA), IFEANYI UBA, OZIGBO, AND ZLP CANDIDATES.

Already, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, leads with a total vote of 103, 946 based on the results that had been collated in 18 out of 21 Local Government Areas

Professor Florence Obi, the Returning Officer of the governorship election, cited alleged violation of electoral guidelines in 362 polling units in Ihiala Local Government Area of the State

She said winner of the poll would be announced after a supplementary election which will hold in the affected 362 polling units slated for Tuesday November 9, 2021, in order to fulfil the requirement of the law.

Prof. Obi stated who cited relevant section of the Electoral Constitution, hinged the inclusive election did not take place in Ihiala because there were reports of insecurity in the area, according to The Punch.
