Mr. Charles Idahosa, the former political special Adviser to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on Wednesday, called for an end to suspension and counter suspensions of leaders of Edo State Chapter of Peoples Democratic party, PDP.

Idahosa who defected from the All Progressives Congress to PDP last year, also sought the intervention of the National Working Committee, NWC of the umbrella party into the lingering crisis which he alleged has now put the integrity of Governor Godwin Obaseki at stake, but adversely affect fortunes of the State.

The PDP Chieftain explained that before the Governor joined Edo State PDP last year and contested with the platform, there were three factions in the party, adding that some leaders who were sidelined before Obaseki joined the party, saw the turn of events as political imbroglio an opportunity for their liberation.

Idahosa recalled how “the old hawks in PDP” who runs the party as if it is an occult “for personal gains with 2023 in sight”, alienated defectors who followed Obaseki to join PDP, and frustrated efforts to reconcile the various factions in PDP, to pave the way for a peaceful harmonization and reintegration of stranded new members into the ruling party in the State.

“I concur also with those that believe that the top most delivery that Edo people knew the Governor in his first four years is missing right now one year into his second tenure. The truth is that when we were running from scorpions we didn’t know fully that we were bedding with snakes. That is from the APC. We didn’t know where we were running to. Now the snakes are higher. Integrity is at stake for the Governor and those of us that urged him to move to PDP…That is the problem we have.

“His first four years was action. You will all agree with me that in this first one year, he has being very slow because he is completely distracted. He has not been able to out his house together because of these distractions.

“Our integrity that has stood us out as Edo people since humans records existed is what I urge all of us to fearlessly and jealously guard. Let no make mockery of our struggle as codified in Togba and Ogbane.

“There are a lot of people that has political ambitions. But as it is today, non of them can fulfil their ambitions because they are not members of PDP.

The people that will vote for your to become house of Assembly, to become a Councilor or House of Representatives member. This is due to the fact that non of the people that came with Obaseki are delegates to PDP Convention. So, we are stranded. But, it is true that were running from scorpions including those of us that urged Obaseki to move to PDP, we cannot become a political ‘herdsmen’ roaming from point A to point B and C because some few greedy political light weight.

“The NWC of the party to do something about what is gong on in Edo State. Edo issues would have been long resolved like Benue and Sokoto States if NEC was up to their responsibility. Governor Obaseki.

“The man (Obaseki) has begged, cajoled, threatened and done all possible things to make PDP harmonize, but for the personal gains with 2023 in sight, the old hawks in Edo PDP are resisting. But sooner than later, the right thing would be done. I hereby appeal to the Governor and all Stakeholders to stop the unnecessary suspension and counter suspension forthwith. It is distracting us.

“Like I said the Governor has done everything possible to make sure that they harmonise. They will come to meeting and agree. Everybody go to your LGAs and harmonise. You will call them, they will not harmonise. I have never seen a where a political party is being run like a cult”, Idahosa alleged.

The PDP Chieftain assured that Governor Obaseki will deliver Edo people if we can put under control the distractions and allow him to concentrate on governance.
