.

Prince Christopher Isiguzo, president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has alleged that 95 percent supporters of one of his main opponents are ineligible to vote at the forthcoming 7th Triennial Delegates Conference of the Union slated for October 3rd and 5, 2021.

Isiguzo disclosed this when he meant with delegates and members of NUJ, Edo State Council on Tuesday evening in Benin City, the State Capital.

He stated that the unnamed individuals masquerading as journalists, will neither have access to the venue nor allowed access to the voting arena at the Conference because they are not accredited voters in the election in Umuahia, Abia State.

He revealed that all his supported who are in his re-election Campaign WhatsApp group are delegates to the election, unlike the members of his opponent dominated by a litany of war mongers and unqualified persons seeking to oust him.

According to the incumbent president of NUJ, “95 percent of the people in the north will not see themselves at the venue of the delegates Conference because they are not delegates to the election”.

He assured that adequate security arrangement have been put in place towards a peaceful Conference in Abia — his home state and assured that the elections would be peaceful and creditable.

But Isiguzo lamented that a contractor that was engaged by the previous lackluster executives-led by his successor, Mr. Abdulwaheed Odusile when he served as Vice President, could not account for the millions of Naira that were paid into a special Bank Account to procure a database of members of the Union.

“I do not want NUJ to go back to. dark era…we will not depose the confidence that you have reposed in us. We will not disappoint you”, he said.
