No fewer than 114 inmates who escaped from Kabba prison jailbreak in Kogi State have been recaptured and returned to the solitary confinement by security operatives.
The security Custodial Centre came under attack on Sunday night by hoodlums, killing some guards including solders on duty.
Francis Enobore, spokesman of the Nigeria Correctional Service in a statement on Tuesday, said the feat was recorded through a joint security efforts of a joint search party who went after the fleeing inmates.
He urged other inmates who escaped from the Custodial Centre to turn themselves into the facility not to incurs the wrath of the law.
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service had personally led a team to the Custodial Centre for on-the-spot assessment when he and the deployment of additional Armed Squad personnel to fortify the facility, according to the spokesman.
