The Convener of Revolution Now protest and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has declared that the killers of his younger brother, Olajide Sowore won’t be granted the right to rejoice.
Gunmen suspectedn to be kidnappers shot and killed the Pharmacy student of Igbinedion University, Okada in Edo State in Isiuwa Community on Benin-Lagos Highway and took five unidentified hostages away in the early hours of Saturday.
Omoyele Sowore in a tribute in memory of his late brother he shared on Facebook on Saturday night, said, “Good night my little but roundly robust brother, Olajide “Daddie” Sowore. Your killers won’t the be granted the right to rejoice tomorrow morning!RevolutionNow”
Spokesman of the Nigeria police, Edo State Command, SP Kotongs Bello had confirmed the incident earlier Saturday morning in a statement.
He revealed that the remains of Olajide Sowore believed to be in his 40’s, had been deposited at Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, IUTH mortuary in Okada while effort is ongoing to rescue the five kidnapped victims.
Meanwhile, the Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has commiserated with Sowore family over the death of his brother.
He said: “I commiserate with the Sowore family and the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, over the death of his brother, Olajide Sowore.
“The news of Olajide’s death is heartbreaking and we will make all efforts to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to justice.
“On behalf of the people and government of Edo State, I condole with the Sowore family and pray that God will grant all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”, Obaseki said.
