UNIBEN rolls out timetable for students’ union polls, orientation

The students’ Affairs Division, University of Benin (UNIBEN) has released the time table for students’ union elections.

This was disclosed on Sunday in a statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the University of Benin, Dr. (Mrs.) Benedicta Ehanire.

She said: “The process begins with the collection and submission of forms by Candidates from Monday 16th August, to Friday 27th August, 2021”, ahead of the General Elections billed for Thursday 9th September, 2021.

The statement titled students’ union elections for 2020/2021 academic session, also “advised students to go about the processes according to the governing rules and regulations”.

In a related development, the orientation programme for newly admitted students into the University of Benin for the 2020/2021 Academic Session is to hold virtually on Tuesday 17th August, 2021.

In the light of the above, the University Management, urge “All fresh students are expected to participate from 8a.m via links sent to them, according to a statement endorsed by the Public Relations officer of the University of Benin, Dr. (Mrs.) Benedicta Ehanire.

The statement stated that the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Lilian Salami, is to formally address the students while resource persons include the Dean of Students, Professor Patrick Igbinaduwa, Director, Guidance and Counselling, Professor V.E. Audu and Chairman, University Admission Board, UAB, Professor O.K Omorogiuwa.

Accordingly, issues ranging from health, time management, codes of behaviour, Institution’s rules and regulations as well as security, among others, will be addressed at the orientation.
