Your demise difficult to fill, Urhoghide mourns Okunbo at 63


The Senator representing Edo Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, has condoled with the family of Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo.


Edo billionaire and philanthropist died at the age of 63 in London where he traveled to for the treatment of cancer.

In his tribute, Urhoghide, described the tragedy as very painful, saying that Edo State and Nigeria have lost a business guru; Philanthropist and illustrious son as well as a patriot.

Commiserating with Okunbo’s immediate family, loved ones, friends and associates, Urhoghide in a statement said, “his death undoubtedly came as a rude shock.

According to the Lawmaker, “The pains of his death is piercing, and the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to fill.

“He was a dependable friend, brother, an astute business man, philanthropist, a man of peace and was firmly love by his people .

“The people have lost a committed giver, consummate business man. We will continue to remember him especially his contributions to the humanity”, he said.
