A surprise appearance by River State governor, Nyesom Wike at the venue where members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), rattled members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday in Abuja.
The meeting is seen as an attempt to smooth over frictions that arose from the recent resignation of seven PDP NEC members over an alleged lack of inclusion by the Prince Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee (NWC).
Wike had been alleged of plotting to oust the national Chairman of Nigeria’s main opposition party, Prince Uche Secondus who was delivering his welcome speech.
Secondus who hails from River State, was delivering when the Governor who has been at loggerheads with Wike, arrived the venue for the meeting, according to The Nation.
The paper said Wike, was spotted a pair of white short-sleeved kaftan with a red Igbo traditional cap.
TheNewspad could not immediately confirm if the Governor who is nursing his presidential ambition, was invited to the meeting which arrived the venue of the meeting which Governors are not suppose to attend.
TheNewspa reporys that PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, National Secretary; Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri and Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Suleiman Nazi; immediate past president of the Senate, Abubakar Bukola Saraki; former president of the Senate, David Mark, and former president of the Senate, Adolphus Ndaneweh Wabara, are attending the meeting.
Others are former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Makarfi; former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu; former Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki,, Chief Tom Ikimi, former Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema; former Cross Rivers State Governor, Liyel Imoke; Chief Olisa Metuh, former Osun State Governor, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Foreign Affairs minister, Aminu Wali, Senator Ben Obi, Shuaib Oyedokun.
