Fani-Kayode leads delegation to Obasanjo over state-of-the-nation

Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of Aviation has led a delegation to meet former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo over wide range of issues confronting the nation.

This followed the arrest and detention of a Yoruba activist and secessionist agitator, Mr. Sunday Adeyemo Igboho better known as Igboho in Cotonou, Republic of Benin on Monday night.

Recall that the Nigerian secret police had raided Igboho’s Ibadan residence in the Soka area on July 1, 2021, arrested about 12 of his aides and killed two of them in a gun duel.

The former minister who shared the photograph of the duo from Wednesday’s meeting at Obasanjo’s residence, Otta in Ogun State on Facebook, described Wednesday’s meeting as fruitful.

Fani-Kayode commended the ‘wisdom, insight, knowledge and understanding of the former Nigerian leader.

He also asked the led and the govern to always seek wise counsel from the Octogenarian in the affairs of the nation and prayed God to grant Obasabjo good health.

Fani-Kayode however did not give details of his discussion and the dinner they had together during the meeting.

“My delegation and I had the honor and privilege of having a wonderful meeting and dinner with my father and leader President Olusegun Obasanjo in his beautiful Abeokuta home last night.

“The wisdom, insight, knowledge and understanding of Baba OBJ never ceases to amaze me. We discussed world events and the situation in Nigeria.

“One thing is clear to me: we need the counsel and input of OBJ in the affairs our Country now more than ever. His depth of knowledge, experience, insight and foresight is second to none”, he said.

While some Nigerians in social Media Community, described Fani-Kayode as a Pathfinder and a bridge-builder, others, mocked Fani-Kayode and blamed Obasanjo for the present predicaments in the nation.
