There was chaos at the weekend on Afuze-Uokha road in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State where mob set five suspected kidnappers ablaze.
Brave vigilance members, according to investigation, captured the kidnappers after they seized some travellers who they moved to their den in the forest.
It was learnt that after the local vigilante members had combed the forest and rescued the abducted travellers.
While the vigilante members were on their way to hand the suspects to police in the locality for further interrogation and prosecution, but a motley of youths, mobilised themselves and set the suspects blaze after a power struggle.
Spokesman of the Nigeria police, Edo State Command, Kontongs Bello, confirmed the incident.
He revealed that investigation into the incident has commenced.
