Veteran Nigerian singer, Sound Sultan, Olanrewaju Fasasi has died after a prolonged battle with (lymphoma) throat cancer.

He left behind his traumatised wife, three children and his siblings.
Olarewaju family in a statement announced the death of the 44-year old singer who left his traumatised wife, three children and his siblings died on Sunday morning.
“We his family will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss,” his brother Kayode Fasasi said in the family statement.
Sound Sultan dominated Nigeria’s music in the early and mid-2000s after he released hits like Jagbajantis, Bushmeat and Follow Me Go.
12 years after, he was nominated for the top music awards Headies.
His fans and other singers have started to send tribute to his family as he his songs hit radio stations.
