Nigeria govt rewards AFCON Super squad with houses after 27 years

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has finally approved the 3-bedroom houses to members of the Super Eagles squad that won the African Cup of Nations that was hosted in Tunisia, 27 years ago.

Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja said the approval followed a memo by the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.

Shehu revealed that Buhari approved the allocations in their States of preference.

He said six players and three Technical Crews who participated in the tournament had received their own houses.

He said four of the players who won the tournament for Nigeria in 1994, Wilfred Agbonavbare, Uche Okafor, Wilson Oliha and Stephen Keshi are now deceased.
