Court halts Ondo CJ investigation

A federal High, Abuja Division has restrained Ondo State governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu from investigating the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Oluwatoyin Akeredolu.

Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the order in a ruling on Thursday in response to an ex-parte application that was filed by the Chief Judge, seeking to halt his investigation.

The court also barred the Attorney General of Ondo State and the House of Assembly seeking to stop them from proceeding with the planned probe.

It also restrained are and the AGF, NJC and the IGP from acting on any report submitted to them by the Ondo State government, pending the determination of the main suit.

Recall that the court process was initiated after a viral video made by a citizen of the State, Olupelumi Fagboyegun emerged.
