Butchers across the federation have asked for grants to enable them sustain their livelihoods and ease economic austerity, amidst growing concerns over insecurity.

The appeal was contained in a Communiqué jointly signed by the President and Secretary of Butchers Association of Nigeria, Chief John Osamede Adun and Seiriki Katakpe of at the end of their NEC meeting in Abuja.
The group specifically called on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Ministry of Agriculture to release pending allocation that is due to the body over the years.
It also appealed to relevant agencies of government to urgently join resolve the security crisis in Nigeria.
