God will give justice to 14 Lawmakers-elect —Oshiomhole urges APC supporters to take pride in defeat

.

Former national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole says God will give justice to 14 of Edo State House of Assembly members-elect.

He noted that the APC Lawmakers-elect who are yet to be sworn-in, barely barely two years after the 7th Assembly was inaugurated, did not commit any sin.

Oshiomhole revealed this at an enlarged APC leaders meeting in Edo North Senatorial district in the State, barely two weeks after he congratulated the incumbent Governor of the State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki the Supreme court cleared him of his Certificate forgery case that was filed by the APC.

But the State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, had previously threatened to try the 14 members-elect of the state’s House of Assembly.

Recall that in December 2019, the leadership of the State House of Assembly, declared seats of the lawmakers vacant by the House led by former speaker for being absent from the House proceedings for the mandatory 181 days.

The members-elect who were elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019 are Vincent Uwadiae, Ovia North-East II; Ugiagbe Dumez, Ovia North-East I; Washington Osifo, Uhunmwode; Victor Edoror, Esan Central; Kingsley Ugabi, Etsako East and Michael Ohio-Ezomo, Owan West, were unavailable when the 7th Assembly was proclaimed on June 17, 2019 by the Governor.

Also affected are Sunday Aghedo, Ovia South-West; Chris Okaeben, Oredo West; Crosby Eribo, Egor; Aliyu Oshiomhole, Etsako West II; Oshomah Ahmed, Etsako Central and Ganiyu Audu, Etsako West I alongside two Lawmakers, Mr. Uyi Ekhosuehi and Mr. Eric Okaka representing Oredo East and Owan East Constituency for failing to meet the mandatory 180 sitting days as enshrined in the Constitution.

Addressing the APC leaders in the Senatorial district at the Weekend, Oshiomhole, urged election losers to have self-pride and team up ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

According to him, the APC members were elected and committed no sin, yet, they are being denied their right to be sworn-in to represent their constituents. God will deliver justice to you in his own way and at his own determined time.

He said irrespective of the outcome of the last governorship election in the state, Edo North APC has enough reasons to sustain self-pride and self-confidence for winning the senatorial zone.

“The unity of this senatorial zone must be maintained serviced and sustained. The only way to sustain it is unity of purpose and constant meetings at all levels from time to time” he emphasized.

The former governor further appealed to the party leaders to always have all inclusive meetings to carry everybody along at the Wards, local and state levels , saying that politics is a game of numbers and as such, the language of who is he or her should be avoided at all times. He told the gathering that everybody is something and important in politics.

“There are some grumblings and quarrels in some local governments or in some places between one youth and another youth, one woman with another woman, that is understandable because once we relate together as human beings sometimes there would be quarrel, but we as leaders must realise that we have a duty to settle such quarrels and put them behind us”, he said.
