Mr. Clement Okosun, former Chief Press Secretary to Prof. Ambrose Alli, former governor of the defunct Bendel State (now the Nigerian States of Edo and Delta) States, is dead.

Family sources said Okosun passed on Monday night in Benin City, Edo State Capital after a protracted ailment.

The veteran journalist turned lawyer, was a former Editor of Daily Times and the Nigerian Observer Newspapers at different times when he retired as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education in the defunct Bendel State.

Late Alli was a Nigerian medical professor of morbid Anatomy who served as first Executive Governor of the defunct Bendel State between 1979 and 1983.

He also established Ambrose Alli University (AAU) former known as Edo State University, Ekpoma, Edo State, in 1980.
