Two residents were shot dead on Thursday in Benin during a gun testing by a local vigilante member.
The tragedy occurred in Efehi Street, off College road, Aduwawa, in Ikpoba Okha local government area of the State.
The vigilante told her that he was going home to get his gun and when he returned, he killed the woman and the other Nigerian who came to patronise her.
Sources said the trigger-happy vigilante ran home and brought out his gun and killed them with his gun after a quarrel with the shop owner.
Spokesman of the Nigeria police Command, SP Kotings Bello confirmer the incident.
He revealed that the had personally submitted himself to the police.
SP Bello explained that the incident occurred when the vigilante made an attempt to shoot into the air and mistakenly, killed two persons.
The bodies of the victims have been deposited in a morgue.
Commenting on the incident, Glory Otabor, called for the investigation and prosecution of the murder suspect.
He urged police authorities to train vigilante members on gun handling and public conduct.
