N10bn fraud: EFCC summons PDP NWC officials

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) led by its national Chairman, Prince Uche Seondus for alleged diversion of funds and N10 billion fraud, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Daily Trust, linked the summon to a petition by a Chieftain of PDP, Mr. Kazeem Afegbua to the anti-graft agency asking the anti-grant agency to investigate finances that had accrued to the national leadership of the main opposition party.

In response to the petition, the Commission in a letter dated May 17, 2021 addressed to Prince Uche Secondus, requested the party’s National chairman to release the National Auditor, National Organising Secretary and Director of Finance to report at the EFCC headquarters from May 19th to 21st 2021.

The agency also requested the national officers to honour the invitation with relevant documents relating to sales of forms into the party’s elective positions from January 2017 to date during their appearance which is to enable it obtain certain clarificgeton from the party.

A top aide to a member of NWC of Nigeria’s main opposition party told TheNewspad that leaders had meant to discuss the thorny issues.
