The protest by suspected internet better known as ‘yahoo Boys’ against operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) disrupted business activities on Tuesday morning in Osogbo, Osun State Capital.

It was leant that the alleged resistance by youths against operatives from arresting unnamed young Nigerians, heightened tension in the locality.
Residents scamper for safety when the standoff between security operatives and the youths.
Officials of the Commission had had launched unsuccessful raid on suspected internet fraudsters on Monday night before they re-enforced on Tuesday morning.
Angered by incessant harassment, the youths blocked Lameco area road of the town and other parts, making life unbearable for commuters, pedestrians and other road users including business owners in the area.
Anti riot policemen and other security agencies who fired gunshots to disperse the protesters who staged bonfires on the road.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria police, Osun State Command, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, defended police action.
She said the police has swung into action to maintain orderliness in the affected areas rocked with protests.
Authorities of EFCC is yet to make official statement in connection with the incident.
