EFCC arrests Kwara ex-governor, Abdulfatai for allege N9bn fraud


Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested former Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Abdulfatai Ahmed.


He was accused of diverting the sum of N9 billion from Government account when he governed the State between 2001 and 2019.

Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said the former governor responded to the Commission’s invitation.

Abdulfatai was the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in the 2019 General elections in Kwara State.

He lost his re-election bid to the incumbent Governor of the State, Mr. Abdulrahman Abdukrazaq who contested the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
