Kaduna govt denies female students’ rape in captivity

The Kaduna State Government has declared that no female student of federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was raped while in captivity.


27 students who were abducted when bandits invaded the school in Afaka on the Kaduna International Airport road, Kaduna on March 11, 2021.

The hoodlums demanded N500m as ransom for their release, but 10 of the 39 male and female students had been released in two batches of five each.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this on Thursday when he featured at good morning Nigeria on NTA.

According to Aruwan, “As a Government we are happy with the response that we have gotten so. There is no incident that some of the female students were harassed”.

He assured that the students who were received by the State governor, Nasir E-Rufa’i on Wednesday, would be re-united with their families when the ongoing medical check-up.

He revealed that academic activities in the College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, has suspended in view of the incident.

But he explained that administrative work is still ongoing at the College.
