Drama as acclaimed ‘wizard crashes’ at Benin market, nabbed by vigilance group


A middle-aged man accused of been a wizard, has reportedly crashed landed at the popular Ekiosa market in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.

The incident which suggest to be an extremely rare case, occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in one of shops where baby items are sold on Murtala Mohammed (MM) Way by the market.

The self-acclaimed wizard, was said to have aborted his trip to undisclosed mission after he ran out of ‘aviation fuel’, according to multiple reports from the area

Traders at the market who claimed to have sighted him and raised the alarm that attracted a motley of mob who beat up the ‘frail-looking wizard’ who was later handed over to local security at the market for further interrogation.

The security, barred witnesses from filming the bizarre incident. But traders, commuters and Pedestrians, stormed the scene to catch a glimpse of the suspect that caused a traffic snarl at Upper Sokpomba Axis, MM Way-Ikpoba Hill and other adjoining Streets for hours.

The spokesman of the Nigeria police, Edo State Command, SP. Bello Kontongs was unavailable as at the time of filing this report.
