Monarch suspended, amidst accusation of aiding  banditry

The Katsina State Government has approved the suspension of the head of Kankara district, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal under the Katsina Emirate Council.

THE EMBATTLED HEAD OF KANKARA, ALHAJI YUSUF LAWAL

Lawal district, is under the Emirate headed by His Royal Highness Alhaji Abdulmunini Kabir Usman, was suspended with immediate effect.

In a statement which was signed by the Sallaman Katsina, Alhaji Mamman Ifo on behalf of the Emir dated April 30, 2021, however did not state the reasons for the monarch’s suspension.

But the the Secretary of the Emirate Council and Sallaman Katsina, Alhaji Mamman Ifo told the BBC Hausa service that the district head has been suspended for allegedly aiding banditry in his domain.

Ifo revealed that a Committee has been constituted by the emirate to investigate the allegations levelled against district head by his kinsmen.
