Suspected bandits reportedly killed five persons on Friday in Gwer-West Local Government Area of Benue State.
A security source said the victims were killed when gunmen raided two Communities in the State while unaccounted number of persons were declared missing in the dawn raid.
The source revealed that a pregnant women and two other persons with gunshot injuries were however rescued in the attack.
The bodies of the victims had been deposited at the General hospital Naka while the treatment of the injured persons have also commenced, according to the sources.
Contacted, the Public Relations Officer of Benue State police Command, Catherine Anene, said that she was yet to be briefed about the development.
But the Commander of Operation Whirl stroke (OPWS) in Benue State, Brig-General Clement Apere, confirmed the incident.
