Benin monarch announces date to celebrate return of Oranmiyan

The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II has announced the programme of activities to celebrate the return of Oranmiyan, the son of Odudua to his biological land of Benin.

The spiritual Ceremony is also used to thank God, ancestors as well as the spirits of the land for the successful ascension of Benin monarch to the throne of his forebears.

The Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Mr. Frank Irabor conveyed the announcement in a Press statement on Friday.

The outdoor Celebration better known as Ugie Odudua, is billed to begin on May 4th 2021 at the royal palace ground in Benin City and will last for seven days and it is open to members of the public attend, according to the statement.
