Three policemen killed in Ebonyi, 72 hours after joint security outfit launch

Three police personnel have been reportedly killed in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Capital.

On Wednesday night incident, caused pandemonium among residents, according to sources.

This comes 72 hours after the five Governors of South Eastern States in Nigeria, set up a joint security outfit codenamed Ebubeagu — fear of lion.

Governors of Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and Enugu States and the Navy and Air Force Commanders, the Inspector-General of Police, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other Stakeholders attended the meeting in Imo State.

A personal aide to Governor, David Umahi of Ebonyi State disclosed this on Thursday.

But he did not give details.

Police authorities in the State are yet to yet to release official statement concerning the incident.

Ebonyi State has been under attack by suspected armed bandits, resulting in the loss of several lives.
