South-East govs set up regional security outfit — Ebubeagu

The Imo State Government has welcome the joint security outfit codenamed Ebubeagu — fear of lion which was set up by the five States in South Eastern Nigeria on Sunday.

A CROSS SESSION OF SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS

The Imo State Government revealed this on its official Twitter handle after Governors and Stakeholders of the region held a security meeting in Imo State on Sunday.

According to the tweet: “South-East Governors set up the South-East joint security outfit code named EBUBEAGU”

On Monday last week, gunmen attacked the Nigeria police headquarters and the Custodial Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Oweri in Imo State where over 1500 prisoners were set free by the hoodlums, sparking vitriolic comments among Nigerians and the Government.

Governors of Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and Enugu States and the Navy and Air Force Commanders, the Inspector-General of Police, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other Stakeholders attended the meeting.
