Buckingham Palace has announced the death of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh — husband of Queen Elizabeth II of England, United Kingdom.

According to the Associated Press (AP), the Duke of Edinburgh who retired from public engagements in 2017, died at the age of 99.

The deceased married Elizabeth in 1947, becoming the longest-serving consort in British history.
