‘Stolen wheelbarrow lost to ‘buyer’ causes upset in Benin


A 55-year-old stolen wheelbarrow buyer has lost a fairly used wheelbarrow to a burglar thief in Benin City, Edo State Capital.


The meat seller’ simply identified as ‘Mama Dele who thought she had a good bargain, bought the said wheelbarrow from unidentified migrant worker from the northern part of Nigeria with the sum of N5,500 on Monday morning.

But on Tuesday, while she was away to church, the suspected burglar thief, sneaked into the residence of the startled burglary victim, broke into her apartment and made off with the wheelbarrow while she was in church.

It was reported that when the meat seller returned and discovered that her residence had been breached by an intruder who happens to be the person who sold the wheelbarrow to her.

A curious neighbour who pleaded for anonymity, had confronted the suspected burglar when he noticed a strange movement in the area.

He said: “Mama Dele” wept uncontrollably when she discovered that her house had been burgled”.

He hinted that the highly devastated meat seller is yet to report the case with the police.
