President Mohammadu Buhari has sacked the Inspector-General of police, Mohammed Adamu, two months into his extended 3-month tenure.

The DIG. Usman Alkali Baba who served as Commissioner of Police in Federal Capital Territory Abuja, was named by the President as the acting IGP.
Adamu’s sack which is with immediate effect, came during his visit to Owerri to assess damage to Imo State Police Command headquarters, following attack on the facilities by gunmen on Monday morning.
