Benin monarch takes Christians to task on insecurity, Covid-19 pandemic

The Benin monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II has urged “Christian leaders to pray against insecurity, and enduring peace, harmony amongst mankind”.

This was contained in his congratulatory message on the occasion of Easter Celebration by Mr. Victor Ogiemwanre, acting Chief Press Secretary to Oba of Benin.

The traditional ruler, tasked “Christians to continually pray for the nation’s leaders and the mitigation against the world deadly Coronavirus pandemic across the globe, particularly in Nigeria”.

The monarch, felicitated with Christians on the occasion of Easter, according to him, is used to mark the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He also “enjoined Christians irrespective of denominations to use this period of Easter to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ and endeavour to follow the footsteps of Christ in their daily living”.
