Security agents repel attack as bandits kill one, injure 9 in Benue


Security operatives have repelled attack by suspected bandits at Abaji market in Kastina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.


The ‘bandits disguised themselves as buyers shot sporadically, killed one person and injured nine others’ in the incident which occurred at 6:30p.m on Wednesday.

The Public Relations officer of the State Command, DSP Catherine Anene said this in a Press release on Thursday.

She revealed that “the joint operation of police and other security agents returned fire and repelled the bandits to the forest with gunshot injuries where they have been cordoned for search”.

“The body of the deceased have been deposited at primary health care center abaji while injured persons are receiving medical attention at general hospital Kastina-Ala”, according to the police Command.

Anene stated that “more patrol teams were immediately drafted to the scene to assist officers on ground. cordon and search operation is in progress”.
