Miyetti Allah petitions police over ‘missing herders, 322 cows’


Cattle breeders association of Nigeria (MACBAN) better known as Miyetti Allah has petitioned police authorities over missing 33 herders and 322 cows in Anambra State.

Violence against herdsmen increase recently in Ayamelum, Anambra East, Orumba South, Dunukofia Local Government Areas of the State after the reported killings of some persons.

The Zonal Chairman of MACBAN, Mr. Gidado Siddiki in a letter to the South Eastern Zone Chapter to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, E Department, Force Headquarters, alleged that the attacks resulted in casualties.

It flayed the attacks and sought the intervention of the police into the unabated crisis.

Part of the letter reads: “We therefore ask for your urgent interventions to forestall further loss of lives and properties”.

On Thursday, unspecified number of naval and police personnel have been reportedly ambushed and killed in different locations of Anambra State by gunmen.
