The Governing Council of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has been commended for the appointment of Mr. Ademola Bobola as the new substantive Registrar of the institution.

Mr Bobola succeeds Mrs. Otasowie Oshodin retired in May, 2020, after the period of interregnum in which Mr Clarkson Ehigiator acted as the Registrar due to the restriction of conducting physical interview for the post of a substantive Registrar as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Reports from the University Community stated that some staff and students of the University ad well as UNIBEN Alumni Association, described the feat as a welcome development.
They also showered encomiums on the applauded the interview panel, consisting mainly of external persons and the University Community for appointing a Candidate based on merit, judging by Mr Bobola’s rich profile.
According to the reactions of the Stakeholders, the appointment of the new Registrar underscores the fact that the University of Benin has lived up to its billing a federal Institution.
The interview panel for the last exercise comprised, among others, Chairman of Council and external members, the Vice Chancellor.
The Federal Character Commissioner, a Registrar from another federal University, and representatives of the University’s Senate, as well as Congregation also participated in the exercise.
Already, some Nigerians have also congratulated Mr. Ademola Bobola on his appointment as the new UNIBEN registrar.
Biodun Akomolafe wrote: “Congratulations to the New Registrar. I wish him a successful tenure in office while Mr. Adebayo Olatunji, described his appointment as “a well deserved appointments”.
