Supreme court upholds 10-year jail term for Plateau ex-gov, Dariye

The Supreme Court  on Friday upheld 10-year jail term for former Plateau Governor, Joshua Dariye.

The convict was charged for criminal breach of trust while he was the Governor of Plateau.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Dariye, filed the suit praying the Supreme Court to upturn the Nov. 16, 2018 judgment of the Court of Appeal, Abuja, which convicted him and sentenced him to 10 years for diverting public funds estimated at N1.162 billion during his tenure in office.

But the apex court, dismissed the criminal misappropriation charge against Dariye.
