The Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom has declared that the killers of late Chief Terkura Suswam with his Aide, Mr. Solomon won’t escape justice as tension in Logo Local Government Area of the State.
Suswam, elder brother to Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of the State and Senator representing Benue east Constituency in the National Assembly with his aide simply identified as Mr. Solomon, were allegedly shot dead by gunmen who rode on a Toyota Camry car, opposite his house at Elohim Plaza Anyii where they went to supervise repairs at the plaza on Tuesday evening.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, assured that his killers would be apprehended and brought to justice.
Governor Ortom, sued for the cooperation of security agencies and residents of the State to assist in the arrest and prosecution of their murderers.
He stated that his administration will not surrender Benue to criminals including kidnappers operating in the Sankera axis.
He sympathized with Senator Gabriel Suswam and the rest of the family, as well as the entire people of Logo Local Government Area, over the painful death of Chief Terkura Suswam and prayed that God grants the deceased eternal rest, and his family the strength to bear the loss.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria police has ordered a discreet investigation into the alleged murder in Logo Local Government Area of the State.
The spokesperson of Benue State police Command, DSP Anene Catherine disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday on behalf of the State Commissioner of police, Mr. Audu Madaki.
Anene, revealed that a team of police officers on patrol in the area rushed to the scene and conveyed the victims to NKST Anyiin hospital in the State where they were eventually confirmed dead.
The spokesperson said their bodies have been deposited at the hospital for autopsy, according to the statement titled: “CP orders a discreet investigation into the death of Dr. Terkura Suswam and his Aide”.
“A team of police officers on patrol in the area rushed to the scene and conveyed the victims to NKST Anyiin Hospital where they were eventually confirmed dead. Corpses have been deposited at the hospital for autopsy.
“While commiserating with family members and friends of the deceased, the Commissioner of police, has ordered a discreet investigation to ensure that perpetrators of this gruesome murder are apprehended and justice is served. Anyiin town has been cordoned by additional police teams deployed to assist the Division to nip this crime”, Anene said.
