Edo Community head writes Obaseki over safety on highway

The Okakulo of Aviele Land in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, Otunba Abdulkadir has urged the State Government to prioritise safety of lives and property in the Highway.

The traditional ruler made the appeal in an open Letter to Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki after his recent fact-finding tour by Governor Godwin Obaseki to assess the security situation in some Local Government Areas in the State.

Abdulkadir, urged Governor Obaseki to tackle banditry (killer herdsmen) and other organized crimes on transit routes particularly on Benin-Abuja and Ewu-Agbede-Auchi roads in view of the contemporary challenges posed by banditry.

He commended the Governor for his foresight and “relentless efforts aimed at flushing criminal elements from the State under his watch.

The Okakulo of Aviele Land said: “As we continue to support the efforts of our governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, through prayers, good will, I personally wants to solicit the attention of the Governor towards a timely intervention, that will get rid of the deadly organized network of criminals operating within and around the aforementioned Areas”, considering the unsafe Highway transportation system in Nigeria, the Community leader said.
