The Rivers State Government has awarded the contracts for the construction of two additional flyover bridges in Port Harcourt City, the State Capital.
The contracts were awarded to Julius Berger, at the cost of N12.4 billion.
Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Governor of the State, conveyed the decision of the State Executive Council in a series of tweets on Wednesday night.
He said, “One of the flyover bridges will be at the intersection of Olu-Obasanjo Road and Port Harcourt Aba Expressway popularly called “Waterlines Junction”, and it will be 800 meters long while “the other flyover bridge will be at the intersection of Olu-Obasanjo and Ikwerre Road up to the Azikiwe Street and will be 1 kilometer long”.
The Governor however did not state the duration of the projects, which has jolted his fans on social Media.
