Buhari govt ready to jail me —Sowore cries out

Human Right activist, Omoyele Sowore has accused the Nigeria Government of plotting to revoke his ball bond and jail him.

Recall that on Janury 11, 2021, a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja, granted bail to Sowore, Sahara Reporters’ publisher in the sum of N20m.

He was arrested alongside four other activists were also granted bail in the sum of N1m each after their arrest by the police on New Year’s Eve in Abuja for holding a protest against bad governance.

Sowore and Juwon Sanyaolu, Peter Williams, Emmanuel Bulus, and Damilare Adenola are standing trial for alleged unlawful assembly, criminal conspiracy, and inciting public disturbance.

Sowore tweeted on Thursday that: “#RevolutionNow We are in the Federal High court now after our lawyers applied for adjournment in writing surprisingly the court sat and FG rushed to ask the judge to revoke my bail, they are desperate to jail me the other way round since they can’t prove their original case!”.
