It was a moment of excitement for the Oyo State governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde when he met with ‘troubled residents’ of Igbo-Ora and Ibarapa where a popular youth Leader, Mr. Sunday Igbohor hails from.

The Governor announced his meeting with the Stakeholders on his tweeter handle on Sunday night in fulfilment of his promise to restore peace in the area.
The meeting was part of the demands by Ibarapa Development Forum (IDF) on the Governor to visit the affected Communities that have reported cases of kidnapping and killings to assess the challenges of residents in the area days ago.
Makinde revealed that security agencies were part of the meeting towards ensuring that issues are resolved through continuous dialogue and more effective community policing.
He said: “As promised, we were in Igbo-Ora, Ibarapa zone, this evening. As part of our community outreach, we met with stakeholders, including residents and security agencies, to ensure that issues are resolved through continuous dialogue and more effective Community policing”.
Reports from the area had revealed that armed men recently murdered a doctor, Fatai Aborode, an Ibarapa son who was killed on his way from his over 300 acres of land which provides employment to scores of Ibarapa youths.

The development prompted some youth, led by Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba nation ‘agitator’ in Oyo State, have given an ultimatum to herders in the Ibarapa axis of the State to vacate.
