The Management of University of Benin (UNIBEN) has asked its students return to Halls of Residence for resumption of the 2019/2020 Academic session on February, 1, 2021.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Lilian Salami who disclosed this on Tuesday, clarified that lectures – physical and on-line – commence immediately.
Recall that the Acting Registrar of the institution, Mr. Clarkson Ehigiator on January 20, 2021, announced the suspension of schools resumption till further notice, following the postponement of resumption by Edo government to February 1 2021.
Prof. Salami in a statement that was signed by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Dr. (Mrs) Benedicta Ehanire.
The statement said, students are to note that only those who have official UNIBEN receipts of payment of school charges in all the sessions pertaining to them and have successfully filled, submitted and printed out the on-line questionnaire required of them will be allowed into the Halls of Residence and Lecture theatres.
It stressed further that students residing in the school hostels are expected to have, at least, five washable face masks and two 5mls vials of hand sanitizers each, while the generality of Staff and students are to constantly wear their facemasks as the COVID-19 protocol will be strictly enforced by the University.
