Omokri protests ‘exclusion of Igbo’ among service Chiefs appointments

Mr. Reno Omokri, former aide to the elsewhile President Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has protested the alleged exclusion of Igbo ethnic group among the newly appointed service Chiefs by President Muhammadu Buhari.

THE NEWLY APPOINTED NIGERIA SERVICE CHIEFS

He lamented in tweet on Tuesday night that no Nigerian from Igbo ethnic group has is either heading any of the three arms of Government or any of the three military branches in the nation.

Recall that President Buhari on Tuesday sacked the service Chiefs in the Country and announced Major-General Leo Irabor as Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General I. AttahiruAttahiru as Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo as Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao as Chief of Air Staff.

They were replaced by the outgone service Chiefs are General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin (Chief of Defence Staff); Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (Chief of Army Staff); Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas (Chief of Naval Staff); and Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (Chief of Air Staff).

But, Mr. Omokri — the social critic, said this while reacting to President Muhammadu Buhari the appointment of his new service Chiefs on Tuesday.

He demanded for an explanation of what Igbo ethnic group has done to the President to deserve such annihilation of Igbo by President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

According to Omokri: “What did Igbo people do to #Buhari?

“No Igbo heading the 3 arms of government
“No Igbo heading the 3 military branches
“No Igbo heading any security agency.

“Are the Igbo supposed to be grateful because @MBuhari made an Igbo man his PA on photography?”, he lamented.

But.the Special Adviser On Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina, said the appointment of service Chiefs is not subject to federal character.

Adesina stated this Channels television when he featured on a programme ‘politics today’ on Tuesday evening.
