The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has approved February 1, 2021 as the resumption date for the 2019/2020 academic session.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, said the 2019/2020 Semester is expected to run until the 1st of April, 2021.
According to her, “for the 2020/2021 amended calendar, fresh students are to undergo on-line clearance from April 5th.”
The decision for the school reopening was reached during a meeting of the University’s Senate held on Monday, according to the statement
Lecturers in public Universities in Nigeria had suspended academic activities in March 2020 over poor working conditions and other issues of concern by members of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
