Some residents of Edo State have expressed satisfaction with the Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDTMA) and the Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) during the Yuletide period.
They commended them for keeping violators of environmental laws, traffic rules and regulations at bay in order not to make life unbearable for lawful Citizens.
Speaking on the development, the Coordinator, Action for Socio-political and Economic Change (ASEC), Leftist Osazee Edigin, urged the agencies to sustain the momentum.
He commended them for deploying their men to strategic locations to check the excesses of road users and commuters, thereby making movement especially in the Metropolitan Local Government Areas of the State easy.
“Officials of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA) and Public Works Volunteer Scheme(PUWOV) were on ground during the Yuletide period to ensure there was free flow of traffic in major roads and adjoining streets.
According to him, “it was a herculean time for them due to the last minute rush of residents in purchase of requirements for the celebration”.
He emphasized that “their committed and resilience were not unnoticed even as they extended their operations into the night.
“PUWOV on the other hand ensured traders didn’t display their wares in such a way that they will impede free movement of humans and vehicles. Such dispositions by the two agencies are worthy of commendation for giving citizens convenience. They deserve somewhat appreciation from the government and well meaning Nigerians.”
Commenting on the steps that were taken which led to the accomplishments, the Coordinator, Public Works Volunteers scheme (PUWOV), Mr. Mukhtar Yusuf-Osagie, promised to sustain the tempo and called on active Citizens to support them in order to deliver public service better in the new year.
