All appear to be well until the VC who led the Management of the institution to pay homage to Benin monarch, when she knelt down, raised up her hands over her shoulders and tilted the upper part of her body as she robbed her two palms together in obeisance before the King.

She was however reprimanded for missing the point while His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II who was adorned in a complete Ceremonial regalia and a dark pair of goggle, held his sceptre with his left hand without making any comment.

But some of his Chiefs, frowned at the ‘disrespectful exchange between the VC and the Benin throne as other guests and the palace functionaries who were present at the event, giggle at her behaviour.

The palace however sent an emissary (Ukoh) in Edo Language, to Prof. Salami, requesting her to bear full responsibility for her action before the end of the session.

Igue festival which was meant to renew his magical powers, decree blessing on the land and his subject, began during the reign of Oba Ewuare during the Celebration of a bountiful harvest for families — Benin Royals and the Benin nation at large several years ago.
