The Peoples Democratic party, PDP on Sunday, condemned reported attack by the security agents on protesting residents of Katsina State over the alleged abduction of students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in the State.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan on Sunday in a statement, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to go in search and rescue of over 300 students who were abducted by gunmen on Friday while President Muhammadu Buhari was in his home town, Daura in Katsina State.
The PDP therefore calls on the Buhari Presidency to immediately apologize to Nigerians and the parents of the kidnapped students as well as take steps to ensure disciplinary actions on those who ordered the tear gas attack on the parents.
The statement said, “Indeed, our party shares the pains and sorrows of these parents who have been under serious torment since President Buhari arrived Katsina for his needless holidays.
He alleged that “such display of insensitivity further foregrounds the lack of empathy by the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration and a sad reminder of how it also blamed the 43 farmers recently slain by terrorists in Borno State, instead of taking steps to apprehend the assailants”.
Recall that the State Governor, Aminu Masari had immediately announced the closure of all boarding schools in the State after the incident.
This is even as police and military authorities had sued for calm, and vowed to release the abducted students unhurt.
