Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday said that the Judicial panel of inquiry headed by Justice Doris Okuobi (Rted) that he set up to investigate police brutality and the shooting that occurred on Tuesday night at Lekky toll Plaza during SARS protests in the State will begin sitting on Monday October 26, 2020.
He said this at a Media briefing on Friday after inspecting private and private infrastructure and the wounded patients who were admitted to hospital in the wake of the violent protest that ravaged the State few days ago.
The Governor who expressed dismayed at the level of carnage on private and public infrastructure during the violent protests in the State, appealed to social media influencers to desist from peddling misinformation that are capable of either starring up violence among the people or inciting the public against the government.
He also said he was dismayed with what he has seen in many parts of the State and appeal to members of the public particularly the Landlords and other people to put a stop to all the carnage that has been witnessed in the State.
The Governor who curfew his government imposed on the State on Tuesday has been will be lifted between 8.a.m. and 6.p.m on Saturday, assured that his government will pick up the medical bills of all those who were injured during the protests, adding that the reaming injured patients in some of the hospitals in the State, were in stable condition.

According to him, “The judicial panel of inquiry that will be looking into the case of police brutality
“Our promise judicial panel of inquiry on the incident that happened on Tuesday night. So, what we have done is that we have consulted widely. We are now expanding the terms of reference of the panel that we set up on Monday because it is exactly the sane kind of composition.
“So, that same panel headed by Justice Doris Okuobi (Rted) will be investigating the all of the issues that happened at the Toll Plaza on Tuesday night and their terms of reference has been expanded and for emphasis, the sitting will start on Monday at the Lagos Court of Arbitration International Centre which is Lekki roundabout.
“They will starting sitting and receiving petitions from Monday”, he said.
