Suspected hoodlums chanting ‘Buhari must go’ on Tuesday shot dead a peasant farmer, Mr. Saturday Idehen in Okhun Village, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The victim was allegedly hit by a stray bullet after some youths in the Village went berserk, following report that one of their friends escaped from one of the Nigerian Correctional Centres on Monday in Benin City, the State Capital, was burgled and inmates set free.
The hoodlums took to flight after the tragedy. But, luck however ran out of one of the murder suspects Mr. Felix Ijesuroro. Braved residents in the area gave him a hot chase and apprehended him.
The traumatised widow of the deceased, Mrs. Blessing Idehen, wept uncontrollably when she herd about the incident.
Speaking on his alleged involvement in the crime, Mr. Felix Ijesurobo said he was invited to pick up his arm before embarking on undisclosed mission.
He alleged that the victim was hit by a stray bullet from members of his gang who fired sporadic gunshots after blocking the road in the area.
“We called him to join us to take some tools the block the road, unfortunately bullet hit him and died”, he said.
Efforts to obtain comment from the Spokesman of the Nigeria police, Edo State Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, is yet to comment on the incident.
But, security source said that the alleged murderer has been detained by police.
