The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the winner of the October 10, 2020 governorship election.

INEC Returning Officer, Prof Idowu Olayinka, declared the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner with 292,830 ahead of his closest rival, Eyitayo Jegede, Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 195,79.
Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) scored 69,127 votes.
The electoral victory of Akeredolu by INEC has sparked jubilation among residents of the State.
